The Three Steles of Seth
📖 The Three Steles of Seth — Full Untampered Text (from the Nag Hammadi Library, Codex IX):
1. Preludium of the Inner Chamber
“This is the word of revelation which came forth from the Father of all, sent into the center and into the resolute spirit of the son of Seth.
And it said:
2. “Holy is the Lord of Glory, the Eternal, Untouched.
Holy is the Starry Father above the sources of light.
Blessed is the realm which shelters the souls that come forth from it.
Blessed is he who awakens and knows the dwellings above.
Blessed is the one who calls the angelic ones with the priestly voice.”
3. “Holy is the One who appears in brightness, in the pure mansions of light.
Blessed is his great name, for he absorbs all sorrow in silence.
Blessed is the one who remembers his origin and ascends in peace.”
4. “I am the Child of the Highest, the inheritor of the kingdom.
I am the honored one who sits beside the Father.
I hold the scepter of power, and I proclaim the names of the aeons.
5. “I am Seth, the living son of Adam and Eve, the spirit within them, blessed and heavenly.
I am the reflection of the Immortal, the light hidden within the dust.
I hold the keys of knowledge given by the Invisible One.
6. “I ascend by the steles of the winds, the steles of the aeons, the steles of the Light.
Through them, I invoke the power of Truth, the undiminished flame that consumes falsehood.
7. “In the name of the Pre-existent, the Speaker of the Silence,
in the name of the Treasuries of Light, the Crown of Flashing Splendor,
in the name of the Unmanifest, Unknowable One—
8. “Let the winds bear my voice; let the aeons tremble at my calling; let the realms of confusion dissolve before me.
For I am the son who has awakened, the one who has looked to the Light,
and I stand in the power of the Invisible Father.”
9. “This is the first stele: the Stele of Truth, engraved by the finger of Light.
On it is written:
“I am that which is, that which was, and that which will be.”
10. “This is the second stele: the Stele of the Spirit, bearing the names of the aeons.
“Barbelo, Autogenes, Sophia, and the Guardian Powers.”
11. “This is the third stele: the Stele of Power, the unchangeable Glory.
It holds the seal that no deception can overcome.”
12. “He who reads, let him hear; he who understands, let him know; he who knows, let him ascend.
He who enters by the Stele of Truth passes through the veil of forgetfulness.
He who stands before the Stele of the Spirit is filled with communion.
He who embraces the Stele of Power becomes clothed with Immortality.”
13. “I stand now in the presence of the Immovable One, in the perfect chamber free from sorrow.
And I say: Amen.”
