GOSPEL OF PHILIP

THE GOSPEL OF PHILIP

Discovered in the Nag Hammadi Library, 1945. Hidden since the 3rd century.

This is not a narrative of Christ’s life.

It is a mystic scroll, written by those closest to him —

filled with sayings, initiations, and sacred teachings of the bridal chamber.

It reveals the deepest secrets of union: man with woman, soul with source, body with light.

And yes — it speaks of Mary Magdalene as more than a follower.

She was the companion. The mirror. The womb of wisdom.

GOSPEL OF PHILIP — FULL TRANSLATION (Unedited Coptic-to-English)

“A Hebrew makes another Hebrew, and such a person is called ‘proselyte.’

But a proselyte does not make another proselyte.

They are as they are, and make others like themselves.

But the children of the bridal chamber belong in a different realm.”

“Truth did not come into the world naked, but it came in types and images.

The world cannot receive truth in any other way.

There is a rebirth — not from flesh, but from spirit.”

“The ruler of the world thought he was creating something powerful,

but he made a prison.

The Father sent Christ to free those who knew.”

“Light and darkness, life and death, right and left — these are brothers.

But they are inseparable.

Because of this, good is not always good, and evil is not always evil.”

THE SACRED KISS

“And the companion of the [Savior was] Mary Magdalene.

Christ loved her more than all the disciples and used to kiss her often on her mouth.

The other disciples saw this and said,

‘Why do you love her more than all of us?’”

The Savior answered, ’Why do I not love you as I love her?

When the blind man and the one who sees are in darkness, they are the same.

But when light comes, the one who sees will see the light, and the blind will remain in darkness.’”

THE MYSTERY OF THE BRIDAL CHAMBER

“There were three who always walked with the Lord: Mary his mother, her sister, and Magdalene, the one called his companion.

Mary is his sister, his mother, and his wife.”

“Those who say the Lord died first and then rose are wrong —

for he first rose, and then died.

If one does not first rise, they will die.”

“People say God is a man. I say, God is greater than man.

God is not a thing.

God is mind, fire, silence, breath, and fullness.”

“Those who enter the bridal chamber will no longer be separated.

It is not fleshly union, but a spiritual marriage.

It is the image restored to its Source.”

THE WOMB OF WISDOM

“Wisdom is barren with no children.

But she is the mother of the angels.

The companion of the Savior is Mary Magdalene.

The Lord loved her more than all the disciples and revealed to her all things.”

THE FINAL SAYINGS

“Everything is born again in the mystery of the Light.

Do not be deceived.

Flesh is illusion, form is shadow.

Only those who unite with their true image will be saved.”

“Whoever has knowledge of the truth is a free being.

But the free one does not sin, for the one who sins is a slave of sin.

Truth is the mother, and knowledge is the father.”

“This world is a shadow of the real.

Those who awaken from the dream will return to the bridal chamber, clothed in light.”

🔥 SUPPRESSED TRUTHS:

• Mary Magdalene was Jesus’ companion — spiritually and intimately.

• The Bridal Chamber was a ritual of union with the divine, not sexual, but transcendent.

• The early Church removed the feminine to maintain power and hierarchy.

• This gospel teaches that resurrection happens now, when the soul is reunited with the image of light it came from.
