THE SECRET BOOK OF JOHN
Also called: The Apocryphon of John
Discovered in 1945. Originally written ~120–180 AD.
This is the origin scroll of Gnostic Christianity —
revealing the true divine realms, the fall of Sophia, the creation of the demiurge, and the secret history of the soul.
🕯️ This gospel was banned because it revealed:
• A female aspect of God (Sophia)
• A false creator god ruling this world
• A cosmic lie told to keep souls in ignorance
• And a divine spark in humanity that predates the body
🔓 THE SECRET BOOK OF JOHN — FULL TRANSLATION (Coptic to English)
✦ Opening Vision:
It happened one day when John, the brother of James, was mourning after the crucifixion.
A bright light appeared — and the risen Christ stood before him in spirit form.
Christ says:
“I have come to teach you the things no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no heart has conceived.”
✦ The Divine Monad
“The Monad is the Source. It is the invisible Spirit.
It is Father, Mother, and Root of All.
It has no beginning and no end.
It is light and silence, dwelling in purity.”
The Monad gave rise to Barbelo — the first emanation, the Mother of All, the Womb of the Light, full of grace and truth.
Barbelo, through thought and reflection, brought forth:
• Foreknowledge
• Indestructibility
• Eternal Life
• Truth
These emanations are not persons, but realms of power and awareness.
✦ Creation of the Aeons
Through divine will, a sacred realm unfolded —
Pleroma — the fullness. A realm of light beings called Aeons.
Christ is born as Autogenes — the Self-Begotten —
with Seth, Harmozel, and the divine order of light.
✦ The Fall of Sophia
Sophia, an Aeon, desired to bring forth creation without her counterpart.
She acted alone — and created a malformed being:
Yaldabaoth, the blind god.
He was ignorant of the light, full of arrogance and said:
“I am God and there is no other beside me.”
But he was born of error, and his realm was a shadow.
Sophia hid him in a cloud — and he created archons, rulers, and angels —
365 of them — one for each day of the year.
He created a prison — the material world.
✦ The Creation of Humanity
The archons said, “Let us make man in our image.”
But they could not give him life.
So the divine breath of the Monad entered the body —
and Adam stood up with greater power than his creators.
The archons grew afraid.
They cast Adam into a realm of forgetfulness.
✦ The Divine Spark
Humanity was made from earth and light.
The soul within man is older than the gods who made the flesh.
Christ says:
“I entered their prison. I taught the one who hears the truth to awaken.
For those who remember their origin, the gates of ignorance will break.”
✦ Salvation Through Knowledge
Salvation is not through blood or ritual, but through gnosis —
the awakening of the divine memory within.
Christ:
“When the soul remembers its true origin,
it rises past the rulers, past the archons,
past the stars, and returns to the place of peace.”

“Let him who has the ears, awaken.
For all who seek, shall find.
The truth is not in the system — it is in the breath,
in the spark, and in the voice that remembers itself.”
