The Gospel of Truth
The gospel of truth is joy for those who have received from the Father of truth the grace of knowing him,
through the power of the Word who came from the fullness—he who is in the thought and the mind of the Father.
He is called the Savior, since that is the name of the work he must do for the redemption of those who have not known the Father.
For the name of the gospel is the revelation of hope.
It is the discovery of those who seek him, since all were seeking him from whom all came forth.
And all things were inside of him, the incomprehensible, inconceivable one, who is better than every thought.
The ignorance of the Father brought about terror and fear.
And the terror became dense like a fog, so that no one was able to see.
Because of this, error became strong; she worked on her material substance in vain.
For she did not know the truth, for she dwelt in a fashioned form, preparing with power and beauty the substitute for truth.
This was not humility, but it was conceit.
She fashioned her works in ignorance instead of truth.
And with her likeness and image, she deceived those who followed her.
Those who are not bound by forgetfulness know him, and they are lifted up from error, for they are his children.
This is the gospel of him whom they seek — he who is revealed to the perfect through the mercies of the Father.
The hidden mystery, Jesus the Christ, enlightened those in darkness.
He revealed the path; he spoke of the unknown, and opened that which had been shut.
He brought the truth so that they might understand the Father.
They were drawn to him and received rest.
His teaching was not in the form of tradition or law,
but in truth and grace.
He taught them to see with the heart, not the eyes.
For those who see with the heart know the truth, and the truth makes them free.
They discovered themselves in the Father.
And when they saw, they saw him who is unseeable, the invisible, beyond all form.
He is the truth who dwells in the eternal light.
He reveals what is hidden and opens the fullness to those who are ready.
His name is not spoken in vain — for he is the one whom the Father knows.
They who possess the truth are at rest.
And they cease from seeking, for they have found.
Those who have known him understand his mystery, and they keep silence.
This is the way of those who have something from above.
When they are called, they hear and answer, and they turn to him who calls them.
They ascend to him, and they know what they are called,
for they have knowledge, and they do the will of him who sent them.
They desire to receive rest.
Each one’s name becomes known to him.
He who knows becomes one whose name the Father has pronounced.
For the one whose name has not been spoken is ignorant.
Indeed, how shall one hear if his name has not been called?
He who remains ignorant until the end is a creature of forgetfulness,
and he shall perish with it.
If this is not the will of the Father,
then who shall bring all things to completion, and how shall all be saved?
He who has knowledge is from above.
If he is called, he hears, he replies, and turns to him who calls him, and he ascends to him.
And he knows how he is called.
Having knowledge, he does the will of the one who called him.
He desires to please him, he receives rest.
Each one’s name comes to be.
He who thus has knowledge knows where he comes from and where he is going.
He knows as one who has become intoxicated from the truth.
He is free.
This is the Gospel of him whom they seek.
It is brought forth for the sake of those who search for the Father.
Those who seek him speak from their hearts, and they walk the path of light.
Error, though strong, is foolish.
It did not know the truth.
It fashioned a substitute in its place.
But the truth is revealed through recognition.
For forgetfulness did not come into being from the Father,
although it came to be because of him.
What comes into being within him is knowledge,
which appeared so that forgetfulness might be destroyed.
This is the gospel of him who is searched for,
which was revealed to the perfect through the mercies of the Father.
Through the hidden mystery, Jesus the Christ, the light shined in the darkness.
The Word came into the midst.
It revealed the truth, and it brought all things into harmony.
The sweet fragrance of the Word draws all who belong to it.
And those who know it receive it.
They are not deceived.
Grace guides them, and they know the truth.
They are in the Father’s mind, and they live in his will.
His will gave birth to knowledge, which appeared so that forgetfulness might be dissolved.
It came to be through the Word, who is from the fullness.
It entered into the midst, and it spoke of the things which are in the heart of the Father.
It taught those who are to receive the teaching.
Before they appeared, they knew the Father.
Now, when they are clothed with forgetfulness, they do not remember.
But when they awaken, they recognize.
The light is perfect.
It reveals the truth.
And it gives the power of recognition to all who dwell in it.
It is the Father’s will that they know him.
His rest is in his will.
What each one will do is his knowledge.
He has revealed it to those who are his.
They are his children.
They came from him.
They knew him.
The Word of the Father goes forth into all.
It brings all into one.
It teaches them the return.
It speaks of the fullness.
It reveals the Father’s thought.
It guides them into the truth.
He gave them the knowledge of himself.
It is called “gnosis,” since it is by this that they were known.
The Father’s thought became a reality, for it was carried out with fruit.
He found them in himself and in union with himself.
Although they had not yet appeared, he knew them.
And in the final time, he revealed them.
The book of the living was revealed in the heart of the Word.
It was written before the foundation of the world,
and it is filled with the names of those who will know the Father.
They are the letters of his writing.
For if the writing had not been put into the book,
the Word would not have appeared to them.
The Word is truth and brings all things into harmony.
His name is not spoken,
but it is revealed through the Son.
Through the name, the Father is known.
For the Son is the name of the Father.
He is the first who named the Father.
The name, then, is the Son.
He did not hide it in secrecy but spoke it openly.
When the name appeared, the Father’s children knew it.
They were called by name,
and they who know it belong to him.
Each one who has knowledge has been from above.
If called, he hears, answers, and turns to him who calls.
He ascends to him and knows what he is called.
He has knowledge and does the will of him who called him.
He desires to please him and finds rest.
Each one’s name becomes known.
He who has knowledge is from above.
When he is called, he hears, replies, and turns to him who calls,
and he goes up to him and knows what he is called.
He has knowledge, and he does the will of the one who called him.
He desires to please him, and he finds rest.
Those who know are known.
They are awakened by him who is known.
They live in the Word and receive the Father’s name.
Those who live in the name become his children.
They do not deny the name, for the name is the Father’s.
The Son reveals it.
Those who do not deny it are known.
The Father’s name remains in them.
Those who understand this know where they come from and where they are going.
They are not confused in mind.
They have rest and are not weary.
They know the truth and its revelation.
The Father’s rest is in the fullness.
They know that they came forth from it, and they turn toward that place in joy.
Those whose names he knew first were called last,
so that the one who has knowledge is he whose name the Father has pronounced.
For he whose name has not been spoken is ignorant.
Indeed, how shall one hear if his name has not been called?
He who remains ignorant until the end is a creature of forgetfulness,
and he shall perish with it.
If this is not the will of the Father, it is not right that they perish.
Then who shall save them?
All things are possible with the Father.
He knows the place of each one.
He has revealed it to those who have knowledge.
Those who are in it know themselves.
They know where they are from and where they are going.
They have stripped off time and put on eternity.
They are not troubled by anything.
They rest in him who is at rest.
They are not weary.
They dwell in the truth.
They know it is the fullness.
They have found it in the Father.
The Gospel of Truth is joy to those who have received grace from the Father of Truth,
that they might know him through the power of the Word.
The Word has come from the fullness.
He is in the thought and the mind of the Father.
He is called Savior — a term that means the healing of the ignorant.
This is the gospel of him whom they seek.
He is the all.
He is the source of knowledge.
He is the one who reveals the fullness.
Amen.
